Anemone / Lady Gaga / 2013
Lady Gaga performed at the I-tunes festival in 2013 in advance of her ARTPOP launch later that year. XO worked with the Haus of Gaga creative team on a number of one of a kind pieces of couture fashion technology and the first to be shown to the public was the Anemone dress.
The dress is an architecture of leather supporting 3D printed bubble machines of different sizes that can be triggered by a wireless DMX signal, which means the bubbles can actually be animated to music or synchronised to a lighting desk. The effect we were trying to achieve was that of an intangible surface - a dress that could grow and transform.
I contributed to the creative discussions with the client and lead the technical development and realisation of the final dress.
